Brendan Fraser’s, The Whale is a Tour De Force

The Whale

Darren Aronofsky’s feature film The Whale is a psychological drama film exploring the story of Charlie – an English professor, clinically obese, and reclusive. With Brendan Fraser in the leading role alongside support from Sadie Sink, Hong Chau Ty Simpkins and Samantha Morton.

This emotional exploration had its world premiere at Venice International Film Festival before being released to US audiences by A24 on December 9th that year. From within seclusion brought about by fear of judgement for his size comes Liz – her unique relationship with Charlie as both nurse & friend ultimately pushing him towards accepting medical help for what could prove fatal heart failure issues.
